Unusual dashboard colours

Post by kieran.l »

Just wondering where these dashboard colours available in the UK - blue in a mk1 and brown in a mk2 (I've seen brown in a mk1)? You wouldn't see many, if any.. These pics are from Leboncoin

I know the blue dash was available in Ireland as dads first BX was an '85 19TRD, Romantic blue with blue dash :D

Timex has a blue dash, but it's a much lighter colour than that! That Mk1 looks like a TR spec car, which are very rare over here anyway.

I've had both of those! Mk1 16RS had a blue interior, and my first car (Ivory mk2 14RE) had the brown.

It might just be my eyesight - it certainly looks more blue than grey to me, but not as dark as the pic above!

I'd have loved one the same as the Citroen Road test diesel estate - gold with a brown interior! I found a website a while back (don't ask for a link, I've forgot the address) which traces road test cars, movie cars etc. and this particular one was last taxed in 1991!

I also thought Timex had a grey dash, same as my 19RD. Would love a blue dash as dark as the one above! That picture is from a 16TRS on Leboncoin, same light blue exterior colour and spec as the tatty mk1 that Andy spotted at Malcolms a few days ago - I wonder if that car has a blue dash...

I also thought it was grey - certainly nowhere near as blue as that blue one pictured.

A brown Mk2 interior is a delightful thing.

Must just be my eyes with Timex then. Either that or a colour contrast between the dash and the MK1 door cards I now have fitted. The grey door cards certainly make the plastic ends of the dash look blue, but it may just me a different type of grey.

To be honest, the dashboard was largely 'dust' coloured when I owned it!
