I've had a look at the ad on car and classic, the denting to the front and rear wings is quite significant, i'd say £1500 tops with this damage and even repaired it will probably have two mismatched panels unless the entire sides are painted.

My thoughts exactly. A good painter will be able to blow the new paint into the old paint but it's still a significant amount of work - not a quick dent man job by any means.

It's a great looking car and if it's as good under the skin it's a good deal for some who wants one, that justs want to drive and enjoy it, doing TLC bit a leisure :)

The body work isn't that bad, worse case another wing and a pull out on the back.

My sons Xsara was rescued (after it was hit down the side) with less than 20 hours work at a Citroen dealership, that had a flat sill, rear qtr was pulled out, front wing repaired, replaced the door and the had bumpers painted, We stripped and rebuilt it to keep the price down.
The BX is nowhere near that damage.

My Xantia still needs a bit of paint to make it Perfect... if it was perfect, however, I may be inclined not to use it. Idon't regret spending what I did to buy it, if the BX had been about I probably would have made a bid for it instead :)

That's a nice looking Xant! What's the load space like in the back compared to a BX estate ?

I agree, the damage is minimal but the price isn't. For the asking price i would expect a few stone chips but certainly no dents.

The car was repaired for under a grand including a door and new trims ETC

nah... bodyshop rate is different, my CX took 100 hours to get back to bare metal... nowhere near 8k, Have to be honest I've been going to them for years, a bit of mates rates applied but still a good deal in what you get for your money.

Book it in, it will be ready then... and it is, they use proper materials and always do a proper job. I went to them years ago when my CX was first painted in the red green pearl bucket mix. That was after I was quoted £650 for a full respray if I stripped it, bumpers and all! cheapest back street at the time was 450/500. It was a no brainer for me. The even fitted the door trims back on straight :)

Proper bodyshop :)

Tim. What do you reckon your body shop would charge for a full respray on a Xantia? Ballpark!

They dont do resprays mate as its not cost effective, your best off finding a vehicle restoration outfit instead of accident repairers.
