Really? Must give it a go. Currently on 'high' as in 'On a ramp, five feet in the air'. I have a few 'been standing for a day' photos that are not very cool, although there's one where the St Tropez bears a passing resemblance to Thunderbird 2 on a launch ramp, provided you squint a bit and think green. I'll have to dig it out...

Perhaps it will be delivered to you by Thunderbird 2 after its re-commissioned ?

Back on topic... ;-)

Sadly the BX failed its APK (Dutch MOT) just before I went on holiday about a month ago. Due to lack of 1) time 2) time 3) space 4) love, I advertised it on the Dutch Citroen Forum and a lucky member picked her up a couple of weeks ago.

I'm glad I did it even though my affaire didn't last long. It certainly whetted my appetite for another LHM suspended Citroen, but I fear that will have to wait for quite some time. Next steps are to move into our newly bought house, focus some effort on that and our motorhome. For now I am car-less, first time since I bought my first car in 1999!

Thanks everyone for all your help in the last months, I learnt a lot and you should all be proud of the great forum you have here :)

Here's the thread started by the guy who bought it from me. He didn't waste any time getting stuck in (picked it up on the Saturday, this thread started on the Monday!) - you can see the state of it in the pics even if you don't understand the Dutch.

Cheers all - take it easy!

Wow, loads of holes & plenty of rust to continue the cutting & the welding for some time. The new owner has certainly saved your car from being scrapped, quite a lot of that looked pretty bad, is that what it failed its Dutch MOT on? Either way, glad you've found a new home & your next one will hopefully be a bit less rusty.

Jaysus, and I thought my St Tropez was rusty! He certainly didn't waste any time cutting out the rust and getting welding. Another BX that manages to look good up top but shot to bits underneath. Shades of G-SEG.

Yes mine is Jetronic, coil mounted under inlet manifold (which is also a different shape).
Dipstick back of engine on right near to battery on mine (and expect all the same)

I was very very shocked when I saw the new owner's photos. I knew it wasn't a perfect example but it was pretty shot underneath. I'm really glad it went to someone who is sorting it out, hopefully it can get back on the road in a good condition and do a load more km's - it was at 281,000 so would be cool if it could make it to 300,000 :)
