t/d air intake hose made from steering gator

the original flexi air intake hose has finally broken into 3 and can no longer be held together with tape so made this as a temp measure, made from o/s steering rack gator with the smaller ends cut off, same i/d as the o/e pipe, seems to do the job ok, has a plastic internal sleeve to stop it collapsing,prob more of a permanent fixture tbh.

Looks good to me, does that pipe get quite hot? If it does, that might be the only thing that might cause the rubber to degrade more quickly than the original, i'm sure its quite thick the original, compared to your gaitor?

hi mulley yeah it is a bit thinner but of fair quality, and yes it does get fairly hot hence the plastic internal liner to stop it collapsing under the load of the turbo, have done approx 100 miles today with no probs. a good s/h o/e pipe would be good if anyone has one??
