Re: Tatty TXD Estate
I do not know but I backed up the sale with an email in case it falls through. Near enough to drag back rather than it going to scrap.

Re: Tatty TXD Estate
Well it did sell to a young Chap who lives in Brislington who already has a TZD Turbo Estate but with issues not least a rusty rear (Oh Matron
). His idea was to swap parts and make one out of two later. First priority was MOT the 'new' car. Well basically the MOT guy was not greatly impressed.
So suddenly plan a and b were looking bad and plan c appeared in the form of a suitable ZX.
So he called the seller to ask where he got his good scrap quote from as the Bristol scrappies were offering £80/90. The seller gave him my number (and maybe the scrap price suggested during the sale was not achievable?) so I had a busy day yesterday as no sooner had the car arrived from Blackpool than I was organising the TXD to be driven up on its last day of MOT/Tax for what was paid on eBay. This was done and I then had to take the lads back to Bristol where I saw the other cars.
There is also a BX 14, in not bad nick, being nigh on a Leader, but not badged as such. Sorry, vague, as I know nothing about those models. It might be for sale and is probably barn find status. I think he was hoping I would buy him out, but doubling my BX in a day seemed more than enough stupidity for a while.
Homer, the TXD Estate is on the edge of salvageable. There is no issue of head gasket, its an oil leak round the back of the engine. In fact the car goes reasonably well. The accumulators working a little hard and a couple of weeps to resolve. Front spheres are not old and it is a comfortable drive. Needs a glow plug, the one you cannot get at. The MOT goes on about various things but I think much of it is bollocks as it does not make sense. That said the rear NS is rough as you could get through, with a plate riveted on, and the exhaust is scrap. Its never going to make a minter but it could be pressed into service as a working car for a few more years yet. So a boarder line candidate.
That said if my mate wants a BX cheap, to test the flavour, then here is the car to call his bluff. I owe him some favours so would get it MOTed for him. I think it would suit and then he can look for a really nice one.

Re: Tatty TXD Estate
Well done Bear, youve got the BX bug more than me! (I admit to fancying a Mk2 diesel as a winter hack again this year)
