Hmm - sounds like the fun Skoda used to have in the 80's - it wasn't unknown for the front brakes to have a 2 pot Estelle caliper one side, and a 4 pot Rapid one the other.

The guy who lives next to my brother (where I grew up!) used to be a fleet mechanic - his company sent him to Vauxhall Bedford in the 80's (back when they still built trucks) on an update course, and while their they gave the group he was with a factory tour. At the end of the Cavalier production line they had a brand new Cav parked to one side painted red down one side and green the other as a reminder to read line sequence properly - someone had changed the paint on one side of the paint bay too early!

Well, car has been collected, it has its good points and bad points, but im happy for the money.

I am certainly surprised at how much better the injected 1580cc's are than the old carb versions I have tried in the past. Very lively, even with its stellar 160k petrol mileage.

The pictures are awful and not well composed and my back drive is a right mess/scrap yard. But thats generally how i roll







It needs a repair to both inner front wings and lots of fiddly small jobs but it drives well enough and could be pretty presentable.
