The 1.7D was only 60bhp and would have weighed more, 5 speed box too!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

The 1.7D might have only been 60hp but it had torque, in fact the first BX I ever rode in!.

A little more thinking on the towbar on the 1100 has revealed the answer - the boot on the BX was not big enough for the hundred or so 5ltr wine bottles the Italians are so fond of...

Those that have seen the 3 wheel Piaggios loaded up with them and 'netted' to contain them will know what I mean.

Mama mia mia,
Prices are high for old stuff in Italy. I saw this in Rome priced at 3500EUR on my last visit. Thats a bit more than its tiny scrap value :

It probably wouldn't have anymore torque output at the wheels, where it matters. It'll be easier to access (you'd have to screw a 1.1 hard achieve the same) but the petrol probably kicks out a similar figure at the wheels.....possibly even more.

That glovebox thing was also in some Dutch models, like the BX "Cannes" and BX 14E and BX 14TE !
Because the LHD models have also a glovebox on top of the dashboard !!

And the BX 11 has only one mirror !!!

Lots of French-market BXs had only one mirror, and a complete lack of all the electrical extras that we were used to on UK models. and a lot of LHD ones had the dashboard/glovebox exactly like the one in that ad.

i had a peugeot 305 years ago which had the same 1124cc engine fitted, not too bad around town, and for visiting the wine cellars no doubt, but a bit of a struggle at motorway speeds, also noticed the lack of an oil level gauge i assume they just have a light to tell u all yr oil has gone and u have to walk home, prob a nice rust free example too.
