A Pocketful of (BX's in) Rye... (With Pictures)

Post by Tim Leech »

Four BX's hatchbacks needing new homes, all diesels, ones a TZD Turbo in red (Another K*** BMJ car!!), ones a silver TXD by the looks of it, the other a white TGD (with TZD interior) and one a 19TXD auto.

I have pictures (which I cant post up until later), the condition of the cars looks fair to good, non have MOT but they all run and lift I am told.

Prices are scrap value plus a few quid.

I am trying to get more info, its 400 miles round trip for me though so a bit far to go for a day trip!

All of them need welding but are mechanically sound.

Ive just come off the phone to Simon (who owns them), he runs a DS restoration workshop and hasnt scrapped the cars as he wanted them to live on, one was his Mums Meteor Diesel (not a TXD as I thought) which has just over 100K on the clock and has been maintained by him from new but needs weldding in the drain hole area.

The TZD turbo also needs the inner wings doing but is said to be sound mechanically, the TGD needs a pipe and a few bits here and there.

£150 per car if anyones interested.

TBH I dont think they need to be gone like NOW, he seems a very amicable kinda guy so Im sure if you gave him a deposit he may let them stay there for a bit?

Rye is only about 20 minutes away from me, i could cast a not too technical eye over any of these cars if needed.

Well, I'd be interested in one for spares but is there anything on the hatchback that would suit the 19TXD estate? eg rams won't suit, how about the hydraulic pump etc?
