A Pocketful of (BX's in) Rye... (With Pictures)
Re: A Pocketful of (BX's in) Rye...
I have just returned from viewing these cars.
The TZD Automatic is buried in the undergrowth so i was unable to get anywhere near it but it will not run as it has no injection pump.
The silver Meteor runs ok but the suspension failed to lift and has various parts removed which are in the car. This apparently needs rear end welding but too many brambles to investigate to what extent. It was owned by Simons mother so the servicing was done by him up to about 110,000 miles,it was then sold to a builder who never cared for it in the same way! Now reads about 160,000 miles.
The red TZD needs welding in the fusebox area but once again i couldn't get to see it. Again various parts removed and in the car. Paintwork faded!
The white TGD (pictured) started instantly and the suspension lifted ok. Rear part of the interior removed and in the car. Some rust around the windscreen. This also needs rear end welding but once again difficult to access. This was Simons personal/loan car for a good few years so i think it would be the best of the bunch.
I took a few more photos but they were not very good, mainly due to lack of access!
