my tzd turbo tops out at 106mph @ 4500rpm, according to the sat nav speed, tho the speedo indicated 110mph ish, still not bad for a 260,000 miler, french tune up unclogs the old pipes.

Several people have lumped a 1.9 turbo charged unit into BX and one even made a do it yourself cam. Not sure if the gearbox was altered/changed. They went really rather well, but not at a 132 mph. More impressive was going up hill accelerating.

I prefer to drive on the rev counter as it is better for judging economy and performance but in this day and age there are so many daft speed limits, cameras etc you rarely find the space to do this. But then I learned to drive to the limits and conditions pertaining not to a list of Euro rules and revenue traps.

My TXD shows at 3000 rpm an indicated 70mph, satnav says 63mph. I do know that it will only go 98.5mph flat out (satnav), but does show about 110mph on the speedo.

I'm pretty sure the td is 70 (on the speedo) at 3000 but happy to be corrected

I don't have a rev-counter or a satnav and I don't care. I drive at the speed I feel is safe and use the speedo as the only guide I have available in the car when I come across speed limits and cameras. I haven't got any space in my head to do mental arithmetic if I'm paying attention to the traffic. Who started this anyway? Should be shot...
