My BX 19TZi Automatic for sale--SOLD

Post by Vantman »

1.9 TZi Automatic. First registered 27/3/1991.Taxed until end of of February 2014, MOT until 6th September 2014. Venetian Red with grey upholstery.
2 previous owners, husband then wife as far as i can remember.
Mileage as of today is 51407,with receipts for work done to verify, but you would need to
view to satisfy your own mind.

I purchased the car in February 2012 from the son of the previous lady owner when the mileage was showing 42977. I have a couple of receipts for work done before i bought it.

March 2004 Front height corrector
May 2007 Suspension spheres (4) and a radiator.

In my possesion it has done to date,8430 miles and has had the following work done, most with receipts.

March 2012 New centre silencer, oil and filter change, new accumulator sphere and a new front wheel bearing.

April 2012 New cambelt and hydraulic pump belt. (The tensioner and the waterpump were ok).

June 2012 Two new tyres.

July 2012 Cylinder head overhauled as the valve stem seals had gone brittle,so,head skim,8 new valve guides, new head bolts and of course a new gasket.

September 2012 MOT test.

October 2012 New plug lead set, genuine Bougicor.

March 2013. New front wiper blade and washer spray bar.

April 2013 Annual service and checkover.

May 2013 New nearside suspension strut (Genuine Citroen)

August 2013 MOT test. New hydraulic oil return harness (Octopus) fitted.

Receipts for most of the above work carried out by my local long standing Citroen specialist are available.

As you can see i have replaced the steel wheels with a set of 6J x 14 Graphite Speedlines.

All 4 electric windows and the heater controls work ok but the electric mirror is
temperamental.

Minus points--Electric sunroof slides back but will not tilt.
It is not a highly polished car as it is my daily driver. The paintwork was badly faded when i bought it and i did polish it back up and it looked ten times better. It has a few minor scrapes and dents as i think the previous owner parked by touch!

The big plus point--I can only find one area of rust bubbling on this car and that is in the offside rear door shut. It has got no worse since i purchased it 19 months ago.

I am only selling as i have a dodgy left leg and i feel a 2 door car with the bigger doors would be easier for me to get in and out of.

Priced at £650.00

Any questions please ask as i have probably forgotten something blindingly obvious.

Regards, Brian. Ashford, Kent Junction 10 of the M20.

What sort of mpg are you getting? I am hanging on for a nice diesel really but that is quite nice and would match the 4x4 :-k

I am unable to give you any exact figures at the moment but i can do a 'brim tank' test during the next few days.It is certainly not awful otherwise i would not run it! I could guesstimate at about 38mpg but that is not a very accurate assumption.I would doubt if it matches a diesel though. It is certainly a nice cruising and relaxing car to drive with a nice bit of poke for overtaking.
The figures i have, not that they are real world,state--23.7 for urban,42.2 for56mph and32.1 for 75mph. I will advise you when i have done the brim test.

Depends how you drive it! The autos are very torquey and rarely do you need to go much above 3000rpm in average driving.

I would say 30 around town and 40 on a run.

My 1989 TRI sedan (1.9 injected automatic) gets a little better than 10l/100km in traffic (maybe 25 mpg) and 8l/100 on the open road (almost 30 mpg)

Maybe I should drive more carefully? :)
