Flame trap in the crankcase breather.

Unless there is a bolt/nut or something under the end cap I couldn't see any way of taking it apart. One thing I did notice though, is that the whole module would rotate a little when I was putting the hose back on - this can't be good?
Any chance of a photo? Can't remember which pump you have, or indeed what the Lucas pumps look like! Reasonably familiar with the Bosch ones though as both my BX and the van have them.

All turbo diesels pass oil into the the breather system. So long as you are not getting more than a tablespoon full between services it's not much to worry about.
It's something that seems to get worse with the age of the car. Poor turbo oil seals are normally named as the culprit but I'd of thought that the pressure from the cold side would push it through to the hot side and out through the exhaust.

Hi all, just thought I`d update this,
the TXD lives another on :) , new MOT this afternoon after sorting welding, front brakes, exhaust (typically I could only find a 16v back box so tailpipe sticks out from bumper) and various other bits. One thing I did find was that the rubber steering coupling had split and was spreading when you`d turn the steering - we used to change loads of these back in the day but is something that can be overlooked now. If I can get a picture of it and you can have a look and frighten yourselves.
Also got the temp gauges working and changed dashbulbs but have had little luck with the rev counter - I changed the sensor and tried another rev counter, nothing, then started it the other morning and it worked thought I`d switch it off and try it again and now nothing :?

Chevronics stock new steering couplings if you neeed one. They are new too ie made this year or tail of last year so not old hardened rubber.

Luckily we keep a few genuine ones in stock so was not too much of a problem and less than half the price. :D

Barry Annels of 'Bourne Citroën' can source steering couplings as well.
