..that_ I really like it too, and I agree with Paul. However, I've seen enough rust on a BX to last me a lifetime and inevitably you'd have to question what's hiding inside the rear wings. Having said that, it would be a great resto project for someone.
Yes, I imagine you've had a gut-full of all that Des. Perhaps I should have said, 'an attractive proposition for anyone that isn't Des Smith,' ? :D

What's hiding inside the rear wings I expect, is corrosion that's quite extensive and will be quite expensive to sort out - substantially more than the purchase price of the car probably, but there are so few really nice BXs around now that if you want one - that's the deal.

Yup, although along with many others, I was too far in to get out and it seemed like a good idea at the time, yer honour. At the end of the process I have a rather nice BX, but I've learned never to buy a car unseen.

This one is a slightly different kettle of fish and I think it would be quite easy and cheap to restore, especially if someone can do a lot of the work themselves, but it boils down to whether anyone wants to take it on. The low mileage is quite attractive but the rusty door shut and the lack of PAS will put people off.

If it goes on eBay, I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to how much it would sell for. That Red LHD BX14 did extraordinarily well first time round but there were no pics of the engine bay or the door shuts which always rings alarm bells for me. At least with this one, you know there's an issue and you can always go and have a look.

Whether it's worth 4 BMW tyres is another matter...

2000 views exactly on eBay with 1 day to go. Been very surprised as to the attention it's attracted though I know there's no guarantee that it will translate to bidding. But it does seem to me that there's genuine interest in the BX which may have become 'cool' at last. The last time I attempted to sell the 16TGS (can't for the life of me remember why) a few years ago seemed to be received with a universal apathetic shrug.

My Citroen garage guy is becoming more and more explicit in trying to get me to accept that the C15 purchase was a mistake. As is the sale of the BX. In his humble opinion.

He could be right - I've wondered about a C15 as a load lugger on and off for a while, as well as possibly an early TU engined Berlingo, but TBH it's difficult to beat any of the hydraulic estates for that job.

Add another 500 if you sort all the welding needed at o/s rear  unless the buyer can DIY it.

But still a good buy.
