hmm - just rang them to try and get the two family wagons on one policy but they said that the cars needed to be our 'second' cars to qualify as a classic. They would only quote as a 'modern' car which ain't much use to me. I imagine I'm getting as good a deal as is out there from Saga who I'm with at present,

Needing a main insurance policy is normally standard for 'Classic Car' policies thats why they are so cheap they are not for every day car use.

I use my BXs almost every day, ok, not each of them but i make sure they are well used. Cant remember if i told them that i use my pick up for work every day, suppose i must have. Still, peanuts for 6 motors and i am still getting old....

My insurance is about £160 fully comp. for 2 cars - but I do have to be a named driver on an 'everyday' insurance policy (i.e. have access to a 'normal' car) to qualify for classic status.

This can get confusing - We have a Peter James classic policy, 3 cars - 2 BX's (90 and 91) and a '93 Audi that's the 'everyday' car. They initially didn't stipulate you needed an everyday, 'non classic' but 6 months later they did (to stop people using old cars to get cheap insurance!!) Non of the cars need to be garaged at night and they are all parked on the road.

Adding the 'everyday' car was only a formality and was a one off £35 or somthing... Very cheap fully comp and with breakdown cover.
