Can we have a recap of the basic information please? At the moment, all I know is that I'm heading towards the NEC next Thursday morning, which is a little bit vague  I can see our slot is at 10 AM, but not sure of a time or place to meet before then, or if we should meet at the NEC itself (if so where?) I'm around 4 hours away, so the later the better as far as I'm concerned!

I know it was suggested to meet at Tim's, but it might be wise to have a plan B nearer the venue, for those coming from the south. If I can get to Ashby de la Zouch I will do, but I'd be coming across the top of Birmingham in rush hour so may be difficult to arrive at a specific time.

@ Mat - I spoke to Sandre today and we're on the case with a rendezvous point - the 10am entry time is pretty flexible and we're going to post up details of the precise meeting place/ car park number/ entry point etc. Watch this space! 8)

In other news: finished! I'm off to Mark's tomorrow for a bit of waxoyl fettling madness, then pick up the carpet on Wednesday, Sandre needs to get a staple gun and we're good to go!

P.S. That was my 3000 post btw! 8)

Cheers Paul. I shall endeavour to be patient and contain my excitement!

I can bring a staple gun if needed. I'm about to start the prep this weekend, but I fitted the shiny new (correct font) number plates this evening :)

OK, let's work upwards: floor plans here, we have stand 8-210. NEC site map here.

Carpet can't be delivered until 12, so no need for those travelling from further afield to have to get up in the dark 8) - I would suggest arrival for exhibitors any time from about 1 pm, give us a chance to get the carpet stuck down. I need to double check where the access point is to drive vehicles into the hall/to the stand. However, you need an exhibitor's certificate thingy in your windscreen and a hall pass. So we will need to meet in one of the main car parks. Unfortunately some of these were closed on the Thursday last year so it's difficult to say which one: I think N1 was OK, so let's say that one. I know this means driving aaaaallllll the way back round to get to the halls, unfortunately if the East car parks are closed we don't have much choice.

I'll PM my mobile number to those who don't have it.

So it would make sense if we all met in the car park at the same time really, no?

I have sifted through the brochures I have (all 100+) and have

St Tropez (Des)

Meteor (Gary)

Late BX Estate (Mat)

BX GT Launch (early model - Graeme)

Kitch/Paul I have hurricane and 16v ones but I imagine you do also

Apart from the Meteor one (of which I have 3), I will need them back after NEC.

I also have about 50 press photos covering most MK2 models which we could stick up around the stand.?

If Tim trusts me with the car keys, I will lurk in the car park looking suspicious and dishing out paperwork until everyone has arrived*

There are 6 car passes. Amazingly, this adds up to one per exhibitor. As far as I can make out, there are no charges for parking on Thursday as the show isn't open, exhibitor's "taxis" will get a car pass anyway of course.

*Don't thank me for being generous: this is enlightened self-interest. If discretion is the better part of valour, cowardice is the better part of discretion and I'm not getting under Tim's and Paul's feet while they make everything pretty.

It would be nice to put a Meteor brochure in my car Tim as I do not have one, and it will be returned afterwards.

As we have two red cars on the stand, does anyone have any of the T Cut red car polish? think mine went with the TZD I sold to George.

I don't! I'm gonna go and buy some Autoglym gear tonight (I haven't even cleaned it yet!) and then have a go at it tomorrow/Wednesday. I was gonna get some of that show spray stuff too....but I'm an amateur at all this as I never really clean it!

It started playing up over the weekend, so my priority is to get rid of the misfire.

I've got two bottles of the stuff - I bought one recently thinking that I'd almost run out, them I realised that I'd previously bought a bottle thinking that I'd almost run out. Memory failing me

You might as well have the other one Kitch - by the time I get round to using it it'll probably have dried up! Swap you for some wiring? ;)
