'10' things...
I want to do a list of 10 'firsts' for the BX for a flyer I'm planning on doing - hopefully in time for the FCS...
Can everyone chip in with some BX features that were either a first or an innovation applied to a mainstream car for the first time etc... Or, ideed any 'amazing facts', such as record-breaking feats (BX production figures?) and so on...

central locking and power steering as standard?
floaty light hydraulics
laminated windscreen (uncommon when released at the beginning of the 80's)
Fully crash tested through CAD and FEA analysis before building (something very expensive and uncommon way back when)
Use of composite materials to increase structural integrity, reduce weight and increase economy.

Except on the models that didn't have these features....Vanny wrote:central locking and power steering as standard?
Wasn't the BX also the first mass manufactured car (IE not kit car or Lotus/TVR etc) to use a fibre/resin plastic for major body panels? (not just bumpers)
It was also the third vehicle to receive the XUD engine (first and second being the Talbot Horizon and the Citroen Visa)
It was also the last car designed with a PRN dashboard.
this might be a signature

It was the first Citroen to be launched under PSA
I'm pretty sure the Visa and LNA count as before that
