Whoah! Thought you'd never ask - let's just get the whole rally field carpeted - it makes SUCH a difference! 8)

Lacks ambition. Why stop there? All the surrounding roads should be carpeted too, to protect the cars from stone chippings and wet road splashback. Hell, let's just go the whole hog and carpet the whole A1M between Newark & P'boro as well.

I did a Google search on that pic because it beats the heck out of packing any more cardboard boxes today. I *think* that the thing that looks like a shark in a dustbin is actually a set of antlers. I can't be bothered to speculate, I'm off to throw some more things in some more boxes.

What was this thread about again?

Oh yes, thanks for clearing that up. A man is sitting at home one day and thinks - 'I'm so bored I'm just going to cover my car with carpet and animal bones.' How does that thought enter someone's head?

The thread was about the National Rally btw - perhaps there's a case for a 'best carpet/bone covered car' competition?

Maybe no competiton for antlers but those fur roofed (factory fitted) Minis in the late 70s' were something else!...

Strange that, like vinyl roofs, I haven't seen one for a very long time.....

I only like vinyl roofs when they cover 331/3% of the car. Great for track days.

I am still wondering if the row of things and the shark pretending to be an antler or the antler that looks like a shark are on the car, or behind it. Since neither makes sense its hard to tell. You sure this is not outside the Hospital and someone has had a Antleretamy? This would make sense then as the car would clearly be a 'company' one belonging to the person who answers to the Chairman of the Hospital Trust. If its a Shark its more likely to be Co op Bank headquarters on a day trip.

Are we having the CCC rally near Orton, Peterborough, to heckle the EMAP, the large magazine publishers there? If so can I recommend an oil drum, the NEC logs and a few unemployed miners for that authentic barricade look, unless some French farmers can be found. Otherwise I will settle for the Nene Valley Railway, not least as there used to be a rare Bonnet, or was it DB, based Panhard special, and a Messerschmitt KR175 there.
