Car is about to be stripped for parts (he has a 14E hatch aswell) and the shell is being collected on Wednesday.

Shame.

Still cant believe a Mk1 Estate is being scrapped but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Oh dear. I should have reacted faster in case one of the guys might have gone in. Well if a rarity turns up the Cumbria option exists despite that it is not very convenient for most of the country.

I have not the time to do a trip to Ipswich and then Cumbria to stash it. Here to my stash is 330 miles. Up and down is more than you want to do in a day. I need to get my house built to the point I can move at the end of the month. Indeed such a trip is effectively doubling its 'price'. I can offer the storage free but then most other interested parties have the same time/investment issue in taking my offer up. If it comes here something else has to go to Cumbria to make space. I guess that is possible, but it will be outside.
As I say bad timing. If I had the freedom to react I would possible snooped a Gti but I have the same problem with something as attractive as that right now. The Messerschmitt will fit in one of the old wood sheds in the garden till I redevelop. The advantages of being small.

Sorry James, he is stripping the estate for parts to use ON the 14E, which is a A plate.
