I got 6.6/7.9 seconds 50-70 mph in 4th and 5th, but that was with 1.1 bar boost (like when you drove it) so will be slower now. It's turned it down a touch from that, as the head developed a crack after 20k miles which may have been down to the boost, or possibly a short overheating incident with the old radiator. Now done another 50k miles as it is at the moment. The tax is now cashed in to help pay for Christmas, so no driving it until next yearMULLEY wrote:As a comparison, our new clubman cooper d has the following stats 112 hp (82 kW) @ 4,000 rpm & 270 Nm @ 1,750-2,250 rpm & Flexibility 50-75 mph (4th/5th gear) = 7.9 / 9.7 s. It'll be interesting to compare against your car's other figures if they are available?
Torque was 167 lb/ft at 2400 rpm - interesting how the peak has moved higher up the rev range. (Or for comparison purposes, 174 lb/ft using the DIN method as Citroen did when it was new). The Focus does pull better from lower revs I have to admit. But heavier weight and less power mean it's significantly slower to accelerate.
