Hi again,
Mothman wrote:No, its not bud, 4x4 not an extra, its a 4x4. Stands alone as a model, and a cracker, therefore not an extra. Was not applicable to any other model as 'extras' were. Think this thread is going off track unlike early 1920s and 30s Citroens.

Here you can see my lack of knowledge again. I never saw them up for sale in the showroom so don't know exactly what was offered. Although I'd assumed they could have put 4x4 on as an option as I have. :)

My Gti has 2 indicators below, one is the K light and the other the ABS warning light. The handbook shows the diesel tacho having a position for the ABS only although the back of the pod may have some commonality.
I know what you mean about the 2 lights at the bottom of the rev counter be they; ABS, "K light", choke or diff lock but what I am referring to is a space between the lights under the rev counter for a clock of some description. Its the same size as the other 4 small clocks in the instrument panel. I was just wondering if anyone here knew what it was for.

Interesting post anyway; I didn't realise they made so many optional toys for these cars!

Is it me or is the picture of the 7 seat option slightly threatening. Why would you take a car full of kids to a quarry?

Its all jolly good stuff but I cannot help feeling some of it is best kept in its bag in the dribbly bits cabinet. The pannier lids are perhaps the most use but look suspiciously fragile. I like the tailblazer though.

Just didn't like the look of them - I guess they have to have vents to allow air through to the cabin air vents on the outside but I think it's the vents that spoil the look.

Thanks all to the contributions to this thread, some great stuff alone with things I'd never have thought of!

One thing not mentioned is dealer applied stripes, e.g. as applied to Tim's BX fan in the thread http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16877" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Interestingly when I bought my GTi back in 2002 it wasn't fitted with stripes, however there seemed to be some faint damage (worsened in the intervening years!) to the paint work on one side that would correspond to stiles similar to the red BX featured in Tim's thread. So perhaps something was removed before I bought it - I have to say the stiles are not to my taste...
