What a collection you have! I've only got front mud flaps... I wonder if anyone has a better equipped BX than your TZi?

Perhaps we should all be inspired by the period clothing and wear pale yellow sweaters when driving our BXs. Yellow is the new black!

I looked around for a pair - then I saw a picture of them and wasn't impressed so decided to make them - haven't got around to doing so yet.
As an aside on my GTi I have four blank switches in row between the seats - what are these used for? I only ever seeing one being used on a 4x4.
It's for the diff lock.

I didn't realise that mudflaps were an extra ! At least that's something I've got then :)
Apart from the 4x4 diff lock and Mk1 window switches does anyone know of any other uses for these blank switches?

Weren't 2 used for A/C on some cars? Also its already been said that heated seats & rear electric windows used 4 of them.
Mine just has the 2 rear windows, the diff lock & a override switch for the fan (the fan override is after market, not standard).

Side stripes, of course #-o

Timex has the remains of some on the front doors (which were originally on a certain DTR!) They're part of a set for hatchbacks including some for the rear quarter panels and the tailgate. Mine are the graded stripe set that run on the door bottoms, but I've seen pics of some thick red stripes in a catalogue, plus there were a set of BXGT stickers that filled the space between the rubbing strip and the sills.

Good question! The swan neck is for the hi-fi.

On this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvU3fLq1HrU&sns=em the same computer seems to have a display built in above it for the Mk. 1. I wonder if it used the clock display in the Mk. 2?

Thanks for that, looks good when installed but where would one store one's coins... Like the BX's radio position not very good for fiddling with whilst driving along!

Yes it looks like a home made set would be more durable and possibly a better design in service. A bit of flimsy ABS or what ever is not going to last long in my car as it works for a living.

Like many extras some of these are of dubious advantage, but they make a great collectors target and there is a lot of fun in nabbing a bit of one up man ship for a few minutes.

Did anyone mention the tinted rear lights. I was observing a bit of a shuffle round of these at Stratty and it seemed a bit of a debate as to which colours were available. I now join the ranks of the tinted, don't tell the BNP, and have two differing colours which I think are brown(black) and blue. There was talk of green and red I think.

Rear lights in order of rarity for Mk2's:

Early Mk2's - Commonish - No Tint
Common - Brown/smoked Tint
Rarer - Green Tint
V-rare - Red Tint
V-rare - Blue Tint

The last two are possibly as rare as each other, only ever seen 1 pair of each evah!! I've got some shiny new Green One's stashed away for a Sunny day :) But have never managed to get hold of the v-rare one's even 2nd hand :(
