Expect a lovely car, youve picked a good spec i think Phil.

XM's should have a manual box and luckily, yours has. Have you driven them much before?

Both XMs I've had have been manuals. OK, except in slow, stop/start traffic up a steep hill; I've only got two feet! lol...

I get paranoid about clutch cables and the like... so I'd like to put together over the coming few months is an XM 'survival pack' for continental driving... What I mean is, RHD-specific parts which would be impossible to quickly source over the Channel and not exactly easy here either.

I'll be after a clutch cable then, and throttle cable. I'll pay good money for new or decent s/h. To confirm, the car in question is a 1998 2.0i 16v SX manual.

Anyone think of anything else essential that is RHD-specific?

Talking of XMs, I've been following this one on eBay but alas funds don't allow me to purchase at the minute.

A phase 1 turbo-diesel XM with 40k on the clock in that fabulous gold colour? . . .

Dear Santa,

Hmm no service history, a worn drivers seat bolser and a very worn clutch pedal rubber?

I would take the car on face value and not take too much attenion to the mileage

It's doing very well for considering it's condition with no tax , test or any history plus crap advert. unrealistic reserve too. I think this will keep reappearing.

I still like it - jelly fish alloys too - I suspect it's the fact that it's a tidy phase 1 that's causing the interest (I didn't spot that whack on the OSF wing last time though :( ).

Thanks to a hiccup at work meaning a few weeks of abject poverty - if not misery - I'm not buying this XM. There is interest elsewhere and I am confident it will sell so I don't feel too bad letting the guy down... Still don't like doing it though :(

Freelance life isn't all it's cracked up to be when twice recently, my plans for further Citroen ownership have been thwarted thanks to the seemingly casual postponing of projects I had built plans on. :( thank God for the ZX as it's absolutely brill and keeps me on the road in something with chevrons on it...

But hopefully next week I'll get to hear how other projects might pan out and maybe come May I'll be able to buy what I need.

Someone asked me if is swap my ZX for a BX of similar spec (that'd be a 19 TGD/TXD)... Tough one that ;)
