The mats are actually a matching pair, just the drivers side has the extra rubber section
Just sharing my years of experience. First impressions are imperative and presentation is hugely important too.

Sadly I'm not really interested in flogging dodgy motors and dressing them up so I put it like it is in the advert.

Surprised nobody on here is interested, I've spend £500 in servicing and parts alone on this. It's concourse but no worse than the usual ebay mutton.

Have you worked out yet that I have a chip on my shoulder?

?
Ahh yes of course as I am car salesman I'm obviously dodgy, complete with sheepskin coat and pork pie hat...

If you're not going to take any advice then I suggest you don't moan when it doesn't sell for what you want for it!!

Selling cars on here is normally not much good as we all have at least one car. Plus as mentioned it's the worst time of year... But hey what do I know

If that had been the car of an anonymous non-forum member, I'm sure there'd be quite a few here who'd have pointed out that a sale was unlikely as the car was poorly presented - which it was. When buying and selling cars you don't get points for honesty, you get an unsold car. Pity really, as with the kind of effort Tim has already alluded to, it'd shift - for a bit more than 500 quid probably. Good luck with it anyway - a sale has got to be worth a bucket of suds at least?

My advice would be if it doesn't sell to give it a good clean, get some thing to cover the wheels with... Empty everything out that's not part of the car and wait a short while until the C word (Christmas) is forgotten.

Start the bidding at 99p, set the reserve at a sensible price and see what happens.

Tim's absolutely right. It isn't about dressing up something to look better than it is, it's about presenting a car to look good enough to catch the eye. I don't look at your photos and think "ooh, that looks nice." Same as when I scan Ebay. If a car is badly photographed and full of stuff, it won't appeal. This can be a good thing - the Discovery I own was very badly advertised and ended up being a genuine bargain. You won't get good money without good presentation.

Sadly, a well presented car is still no guarantee of avoiding timewasting idiots. Ebay is full of them.

Goes for selling anything, ive lost count the amount of bargain parts ive bought over the years advertised as for a "Citreon" (the exhaust for the estate for example which was written by a 5 year old or someone who is very computer illiterate).

Having a clean looking car gives the potential purchasers an impression that its been looked after, even if it hasn't, just means it will be more likely to sell & may go for more money. My TXD had some really low res crap pictures, again not really washed & clean, £260 later & i was the one that was laughing, bearing in mind it only had 79k on the clock at the time. Now if the sellers had made more of an effort, it would have gone for double that easily. It had a shit write up as well which didn't help.

I'd wait for miserable January to go & re-advertise, surely it'll sell then :)
