I'm sure I'm not the only one who was disappointed to read there no hydropneumatic suspension.

I was also dissapointed about that. It seems to go against all common sense from both a comercial perspective as well as a technical perspective. Maybe variable rate springs although from a technical perspective not as efficient as nitrogen gas offer an overall advantage in that they are lighter than all the hydrophematic gear and almost as good, thus offering an overall technical advantage. It could also have been from group rally design requirements at the time.
