Have you played about with your suspension lever, the height corrector may just need a nudge?

EDIT: just re-read and you have no brakes, how is your HP pump belt?

Hi Richie,

My son has rebuilt suspensions before and find that suspension takes some time to kick in again.

Keep putting in high and then low but leave for about a minute inbetween. Try a slight rocking motion at the same time, being careful not to push too hard on panels as they are quite flimsy, or is that just mine.

If this doesn't work after several attempts it needs further investigation.

Good luck.

Sadly, running a BX with no knowledge of the hydraulics is a HUGE challenge! There is a pump on the right-hand side (as you look at it) of the engine. A belt should be present to turn this. No belt, no suspension, PAS or brakes. I'm not sure we can really talk you through trying to open the regulator valve, as it is possible that there's air in the system if it ran low. It's quite tricky to access on a turbo diesel, especially if it has already sunk to the ground.

EDIT - a more useful location might be helpful...
