Good luck PaulnMark(TM)! How about Smith and Handley, or does that sound too much like a comedy duo?

Very sorry to hear the stand has been rejected this year. Its not my thing but clearly the majority really enjoy aspects of it and so much work has been put in to put on a good show. Deserves better reward.
Maybe ideas should keep coming as if an application was supported by an innovative stand/display it might be treated to a better outcome. A selection of performance version of BX is something that would sell. Might upset the fans of the humble versions but Mr Public probably wants to see the more extreme versions. Backed with some supporting materials. Try putting a 4X4 on supports at an action angle or something. Maybe the key stand folk have Citroen overalls. Cars picked to match marshals flags, might be difficult. Seen a Mini stand thus years ago. Very well done and a lot of impact. But Minis get funky paint jobs.

Still bummer for those who had contributed so much to this activity.

Well theres always next year, I will have a word with Nigel Wild at the CCC and suggest that a BX would be a worthwhile addition to their stand this year as the popularity of the model is growing, plus its 25 years of the XM so one of those would be wise. I do find it a bit odd that a H van has to be included as they were never available in the UK!

Rather disappointing that. I definitely think CCC should have a BX on their stand if we don't have a separate one. If they ask Paul nicely, we might even be prepared to hire out our carpet...

Thanks and commiserations to Sandre for putting in the hours on the application and getting a slap in the face from Lancaster. The show will be the worse for our absence and perhaps we should set up a rival classic car show in a field somewhere to which only BXs are invited.

Leo's 16v really looks the business on the stand and is drawing the crowds. I would say it's by far the best condition car on there !

Cracking motor, certainly the best BX i have ever seen. However, i did suffer from sensory overload!! Certainly will take it over 2 days if i go again. So many wonderfull cars and the autojumble!! Couldnt take it all in!!

What about your diesel that's currently in the middle of the craziest restoration I've ever seen on a BX?!

Obviously the proof of the pudding is in how it drives, but if the garage put the same amount of effort into getting it moving around as they have in getting it to look right, it'll be the best BX in the UK.

I havnt seen the thing yet Rich, so what i said was quite true. As mine will have a MK 2 engine in it, i dont really think it will be a show winner. Now, when Wilma is done, then yes, she might be the business!! She will need a lot more TLC, they found 3 birds nests underneath her and the rats have done such a good job on the wiring that parts are going black which may cause a real problem electrically. However, ime sure Rob and his team will make Mollie look stunning. Cant wait.

Nice opinion piece on the NEC in 'Honest John's Classics' - with a very familiar car in the picture (well done Leo 8) ).
