1) The BX has been welded to overcome the usual problem beneath the washer bottle and there has been residual heat stress created.

2) It hasn't been welded but needs it, and mechanical flex and stress has ponkled it!

I'm with Malcolm here, I have seen it before on a BX where it has rusted below & cracked both sides of the screen.

You best bet is get the screen removed & get the rust sorted before it kills your car.

They aren't the stiffest shell around, and I've noticed that if I park on uneven ground and let the suspension sink, the tailgate can catch on the sides of the aperture - for that reason I avoid parking on a twisted slope. On a normal car, some of the irregularity will be taken up by the suspension but a BX on its bumpstops will have all the stress transferred to the shell. Possibly over a long period this could cause the windscreen to crack although I obviously don't know whether it's an issue in your case.

Will let you all know , the auto windscreen man brought the wrong screen
so now I'm waiting for them to get back to me .
I will mention to you all about 2 weeks ago I had the
front spheres replaced don't know if that had anything to
do with it.
