I think all BX windscreens are either not tinted at all or slightly tinted. I think that these look more clear in these photo's because they are inside a room, rather than being the window into a room/car, where it is dark because of the roof.

I've just bought the driveshaft off them! It's listed as an os shaft for a 4x4 but the ns one is the long one on a 4x4. I'm hoping it comes with the support bearing/seal, i couldn't make it out on their picture.

A bearing's only going to rush you a couple of quid, so I wouldn't worry too much! I was fancying the driveshaft myself, but I've got quite a few in stock so it seemed a bit greedy. Might have to take a screen off them though - if they'll agree to keep it 'til I get a chance to get to Yorkshire from France!

The GT has a broze tint and the TZI is green, both could benefit from a new one but I will wait for the right one.

Definitely, fitting the wrong type will likely be a constant irritation!

I was pleased that my original GTi screen with a green tint had lasted 22 years in supposedly excellent condition. So it was initially with regret that I needed to replace it due to a crack occurring.
However it's only after replacement that you realise the degradation that has occurred over the years introducing additional glare on bright days, so really that crack was a blessing in disguise. I suspect this degradation is due to UV damage over time to the plastic interlayer within the laminated screen.
Now I have crystal clear vision when looking out through a new windscreen manufactured by Pilkington having a matching tint to the rest of the car. :D

I never realised that and assumed that no front windscreen was tinted because it is illegal to (after-market) tint a front screen, which makes a lot of sense to me as you'd need more powerful headlamps to compensate.

You get clear, bronze and green. Mk1s used clear or bronze, and mk2s used clear, green and bronze also, but only up until the late 80's. From 1990 onwards it was all green or clear.
