BXC Keyrings

Post by Charlotte »

Greetings fellow BXers.

I've been designing Citroen inspired jewellery recently (yes, I'm that sad!) and I thought while I was at it I'd knock up some keyring ideas for BXC.

The concepts below (ignore the outline on the left) show red and grey 100% wool felt, laser cut with a profile of 3mm (6mm when folded and stitched). The words would be laser branded onto the felt, and the chevrons would be laser cut and backed with black cloth before folding and stitching. The text is outlined to get a more definite line from the laser branding.

I'm hoping that I could make these for around £5 each (just the cost of materials and laser cutting, with an estimate for shipping) but not certain yet. Obviously I'd like them to be less, I'm erring on the expensive, cautious side!

Yep look good, and for limited production run the price isn't that bad! I'll have at least one - would you be able to do personalised ones, or model specific?

Thanks guys :)

The scope is there to personalise quite easily, but of course then they HAVE to be purchased by that person! Once I have an idea of how many are required I can get firmer prices, then if anyone wants personalisations they can inbox me. Other colours are available - but enough people would have to want that colour to make it worth buying a sheet of it.

Definately up for 3, but will have to think about poss. personalisation, such as a BX 4X4 one for Mitch.

Wow - I'm humbled by all your lovely comments :D

Regarding personalisation, I'd be happy to personalise keyrings for any longer term members and people I know as I don't want to risk making ones that won't be any use to anyone else! So anyone who has commented so far, if you wanted personalisations feel free to message me here or on Facebook with your requests! I can add names, VRN numbers etc. or perhaps 4x4, 16v or other variants. Extra complexity does add to the cost, but we're saving money by buying a larger sheet so this should be negligible.

I'll start laying out the cutting guides now, and post it up in a few days.

Just as a note Charlotte, the black-on-white also looks good, can't you do that too? It's definitely one i'd want!

Could the personalisation replace the larger word "club"? It would seem the best/easiest way whilst still retaining the address at th bottom?

Initially I wanted to make white ones with a red insert - whilst white (off white!) is available, the laser cutting leaves a singed, brown edge. I wouldn't like that be if enough people wanted it I could do it.

I could do that, yes - but I'd swap the BX from the BXC Myriad Pro font to a trace of the actual BX logo from the back of the car.
