Yes I guess personal taste comes into it a lot, and it is a good thing that spheres are so easily changeable to facilitate this. If you really want a good ride though I found that MK1's with their bearing front arms are much more floaty than BX MK2's with rubber bushes which give a degree of friction spoiling the ride slightly. I don't know how much would need changing to implement this. Of course I may have imagined this but it is my understanding the rubber bushes have to flex the rubber and wan't to remain in a neutral state, whereby a bearing is both stiffer and has very little or no significant friction.

I believe you need to change the subframe and suspension arms in order to fit the front bearings. I wonder if polyeurethane bushes would improve matters at all? They'd certainly be easier than fitting the bearings to a later car.

of course the early MK1 will ride/float better than any BX that does not have front arm bearings,

you might struggle to find a used early MK1 front sub frame nowadays,

and im not sure you would need specific arms to suite, as the arms might/could be all the same,

as even the bearing type cars still had bush's in the arms

Yes me too Stephen, the DTR road well but not as well as the GT, which I put down to the difference in miles and the heavier diesel engine, let me know how you get on with comfort spheres.

Well I have had all 5 spheres changed, can I tell the difference 'O Yes' the front end how can I best
describe it, soft, very soft, as for the rear it is better, and the car seems to be more pumped up also,
It's much more like real citroens used too ride like, O Happy Days.

I do however think there is more room for improvement, I was thinking I might get the spheres that are
fitted too the front which have bigger hydraulic hole in them and get a new set and get them fitted too the rear also, but before I do that I will try something else first, all 4 wheels tyres are pick and mix not one is the same, I know with the Honda's the tyres make a big difference.

So after I get all the rims refurbished I am going too put on X4 new Pirelli P1', this may change but at
the moment Pirelli P1 is the front runner for a comfortable ride quality, I am going to get this done
within the next couple of weeks, when I do I will update this page.

Tyres can make a big difference. I'm running fairly cheap tyres at the moment (Matadors on the back, Goodrides on the front), and they probably have period style tread for the car, if not material make up. They seem to work well as far as grip etc. is concerned, but I do wonder if they are a compromise on comfort. And yes, they are 165/75 14's on mine. I'm guessing it's down to the different suspension design, but I do find the BX's are fussier over tyres than the GS, which seems to be able to take all sorts of different makes of tyres without any noticeable difference.

I have a set of alloys with Michelin 170 / 65 R 365, however some have spite on them,
I went down too my local tyre garage this week but unfortunately the tyre are no longer available,
Pity nice alloys.

The pick and mix tyres on the car at the moment are 165/ 70 R 14, next week I going too find someone
Too sort out the rims, then it's tyre time, thanks for the input.
