Starting Issues Lucas pump???

I Have just had a used Lucas diesel fuel pump fitted, which at least is leak free. I also had a new timing belt fitted. My problem is that my 1900 diesel is now a pig to start from cold. It takes 4 or 5 turns to start and will cut out if not revved until it is warm. Once warm its fine and ticks over ok, though I would say the engine sounds like its `hunting` (I think that's the correct term, it drops and picks up revs ever so slightly) Any ideas if the pump can be adjusted or is it a glo plug issue?

If its hunting it sounds like there is air getting into the fuel system. Check that you have no splits in any pipes, leakoff ones included.

Probably the cold start wax stat on the pump (linked by a cable)?

Still hunting when warm or just whilst cold starting? If when warm then air like Andy has said.

( Leak offs will just leak diesel not cause any hunting or misfiring Andy)

Will check, think it's only when it's warm. Old pump leaked diesel bad but car ran perfect. Another pump fitted and now problems starting but no leaks. You can't win
