Look a nice set of wheels with useable tyres with a starting bid of £100 and Bridgnorth is reasonably accessible…

To be honest in the real world I don't think mixing tyres is such a big deal. It'd be illegal if it were (or you'd hope so).Way2go wrote:They do look okay but 175 is a bit strange as a GTi should be shod on 185's as factory spec.Mixed tyres is also not a good idea for safety.

+1 ! Adrian, if THIS is still available it would be a much cheaper option, plus the extra spares you'd have too (Or put some steelies/trims on it and re-sell) also not too far from you !themildbunch wrote:Wow.. craaazy prices for these. I was going to go for these to replace some of my square ones but it'd be cheaper to get my whole set straightened and refurbished!
Just to clarify the /\ highlighted in RED there's currently an O/E (#96070416) 'Stud-Bolt' F/S on E-BAY with a good close up image !RxBX wrote:..........................................
As can easily be seen the first few mm's of threads on quite a few of the 'Chrome plated' looking 'Pug-type' stud-bolts are damaged/worn are 'not fit for purpose' even if there were been used say on the Pug 205/309 'Pepper-pot' type of Alloys !
Also would folks note that the O/E 'Stud-bolts' for the BX speed-line alloys NEVER had a chrome plated finish to the 'Hex-heads' which shared the same part as fitted to CX's and earlier XM's TOO![]()
They were always 'Cad-plated' or just a 'Black' finish, the shorter 'Pug' Stud-bolts are easily identifiable by the circular 'Indent' on the end of the Hexagon head form too![]()
So whoever has bought these ridiculously over priced Alloys ?
For safety sake NEEDS to read thro' these threads #ONE and #TWO (I see that unfortunately 'Boxwolf' in thread #2 has deleted his 'Photo-bucket' images that once showed the shorter 'Pug' chrome stud-bolts adjacent to the correct Citroen 'Cad-plated' ones)![]()
Anyhow thread #1 confirms the correct part number and that the correct length (From under the Hex. head needs to be 46mm) !
