BX 14 RE Home

Post by blobbyknobby »

Hi,
Collected my BX14 Yesterday, having a few problems and was hoping to get some advice from the tech dudes!!

The car is over all a bit over soft and jarring taking corners, esp if road is rough. So assumed spheres are to blame. The car came with an Acc sphere to fix. So last nite I fitted this and seemed to get air in the system. Today was advised to put car up full height and losen release nut a few time, which seems to have sorted the suspension back to when I first drove it. Whist in the air I noticed a small leak around the rear ride height controller. Is this the problem? or just a new set of spheres ? or both!

Also I noticed the break pedal is virtually solid, mabey 1cm of travel. Is this normal? The breaks seem to work fine!

Any help appreciated dudes.

usually unless someone has fitted the wrong spheres they dont normally become softer as the gas in them depletes,
but the ride does become harder,

the leaking height corrector is unlikely to be the cause either,

the N/C very very seldom give any trouble at all

the usual leaks on the H/C are either the short rubber pipe split/perished,

or the other rubbery bits perished,

the rubbery bits can be purchase from the likes of

Brake pedal has virtually no travel. You'll get used to it, so you can crash other cars by braking too late in them!

Shaky speedo isn't normal, but is common. Try lubricating the cable, and check its routing. The cable route isn't ideal on RHD cars, so correct position is critical.
