Hi ,i have at the moment a BX 17 ,C REG 1986 which has been standing in my garage for the past 10 or so years ,i have now managed to get it started ,the mileage is 154000 most panels are ok ,and i have driven it in and out of the garage ,rather than letting a scrap dealer have it i hope someone on here would be interested ,regards Richard

Yep, they're rare motors in Mk1 form - they seem to have only made them for a few months before switching to mk2 production.

Spot on, they only brought them out on a C plate before the facelift so are uber rare.

Just helping the vendor out by posting his pics- he'd really like to see it back on the road. I had a look but I'm without a garage at the moment, so sadly I can't take it on.

Factory roof so rare, but will need some welding.

It might be the only Mk1 17RD out there with a factory sun roof

As Tim says, needs welding, but it's odd how it's gone in totally different places to mine. Must be due being kept under cover.

Wonder what the boot floor's like?

Yup, it started no problem and to my untrained eye the boot floor looked good.

The only way to tell is to lift the carpet but a quick prod round the edges of the boot floor from the inside and listen for some cripyness.
