Weeping on high

Post by RobC »

Hello

OSR suspension cylinder drips a little LHM, but only when it's in the high setting.

Likely cause? & is this some 'orrible thing that's only going to get worse?

Thanks, as always.

depends exactly were the drip is from, if the gaitor/boot the pressure seals might be getting a bit old now,

if from the point the cylinder sits in the sub frame, then its alloy worm eating its way through the cylinder body,

i keep thinking of having dead cylinders alloy welded were the corrosion eats its way through,

there are some on here who have modified Xant cylinders to fit the BX,

Thanks - I will have a better look at the source. Does the fact that it only happens when on the high setting help to narrow it down at all?

Not really I'm afraid - it could be moving the piston seal past the corrosion on the cylinder, or it could be pushing the fluid past the seals on high due to the higher fluid pressure in the system at this setting.
