Rev counter holder

Post by Mothman »

Took this off my spare n/a diesel engine. Its the holder for the rev counter sensor. Is it common to all diesels including the 1.7 turbo including later models or did the design change? This is to go into the BE3 gearbox as fitted to the TZD.

It certainly has looked the same on all I've seen, although I've only swapped it between a few lumps.

That is the same as the holder that was on my engine, Some have a different holder lower down on the block (I think its the TD's), & some petrols are held on above the gearbox, although they ain't used for the rev counter.

Make sure the sensor has a gap between the flywheel & itself otherwise it will rub the end off & stop working.
