Yes, easy-peasy as far as I recall. Four bolts into captive threads in the floor, so as long as they're not rusted in place it just takes a few minutes - seat all the way forward to get the rear two out, all the way back for the front two. I think they're Torx heads, although I have a feeling earlier ones were allen/hex heads.

All mine are torx - using a small socket set 1/4 inch drive worked ok. You'll need to move the seat forwards and backwards to get at all the bolts.

All the BX's I have looked at have 5 torx bolts in them. I put the seat back first, remove the front ones & then push it forward & remove the 3 out of the back.

They shouldn't rust in because none of them go underneath the car (unlike the rear ones).

Five it is then! They shouldn't rust, as David says. That doesn't mean they won't though! I had a hell of a job getting a couple of the bolts out of one of my scrappers, although to be fair that had been sitting dor years on damp grass, so the underneath was completely shot.

5 bolts, torx or hex head depending on what they had in the factory that day.

Check that your new seat belt buckles are the same before you have to take the seats back out!

There is a small plate under the outer rear fastening point.

Technique as others have already described.

I've just removed my front seats for cleaning, 5 bolts although mine are Allen, maybe because it's a series 1. It took five minutes. Easy job

My experience so far has been that most Mk1's use allen or cross head screws and bolts where Mk2's use Torx, although there does seem to be a bit of overlap with late Mk1's and early Mk2's.

Early cars also have some non standard hex bolts in them - I've come scross the odd M6 bolt with an 11mm head, which is probably in an effort to standardise tools, with earlier models using a lot of M7 bolts with that size head.
