Bx register?

Post by demag »

Do we have a register (database) of cars? It might be useful. Probably not on open view in the forum but available
Somehow for members to see.

8)
The reason I ask is whilst having a much required house clear up I came upon some old buff and green logbooks. One for a Velocette Venom I used to own in a previous life. I contacted the owners club to enquire if the bike had survived and I would gladly forward said logbook on to them only to be informed they don't have a register of bikes in the club. Whaat?!! Err oh yes  then I thought in certain circumstances it might be useful. I'm sending the logbook to them anyway if only for their records.

So what does the team think? I could soon knock up a basic database with info of dead, SORN and live cars available. :D

There was some talk a while back about setting up a register with a much more ambitious scope (photos, original dealer, owners, etc.) - never got off the ground, what you're proposing sounds like a great start :) - if it's just basic details such as reg nos. etc, how about a google docs for people to look at and as time goes on, you can add trusted peeps to also update it in case you run out of time or the job gets too big :)

There is already a fairly extensive BX 16v register. In order to gain access to the 'members' area on BX16valve you're asked to fill in a form with basic details which gives most of the information, it's then topped up with ebay/gumtree adds and spots as well as users informing of cars they've scrapped.

I'm sorry Tim, but unless you've got access to the files on my computer, I don't think that is an accurate statement!

The BX16Valve register is pretty much as up to date as I can get it, well the UK bit is anyway.

I have got you on there, but not against that many bx's. I know the of those regs are in there, but will have to check on the others. That's a huge number of valvers for just one man!
