Post by Ian_Fearn »

Finally after quite literally years of searching i picked up a TZD turbo.

Its a 1993 K reg with 36000 miles on the clock, yes 36000 miles!

Red and in lovely condition as its been garaged all its life.

I'll post some pictures up when i get chance.

Had to drive to Epsom.

Sue took us in the GTi auto which again performed faultlessly on the 300 mile round trip.

Its a lovely car but its had a period of inactivity so could do with a bit of a service.

Great news Ian - everything, sometimes, comes to he who waits.

You were the first to know! I sent you a text! Basically i mentioned to Sue that there was a TZD on the autotrader with low miles in good nick. She insisted i went to see it and told me i'd be stupid not to buy it, especially after the price i negotiated.

The car is currently stashed in my local barn until Tim books me an MOT. It'll then come out to be fettled (and pictures Billy!)

My 2cv chassis turned up today completely out of the blue so i've got my work cut out this week.

Rear arm bearing on Sue's GTi on saturday to do too.

Oh I want a Dyane or 2CV badly- it hurts.

Well done on getting the TZD, hours of fun on a stick and 50+MPG motoring too. I look forward to seeing some photos soon (plus will give you some copy too  ).

Marty, there`s been a couple of cheap 2CV`s floating around recently, I`m sure I came across one by accident this morning somewhere on eBay, I`ll try and find the link if you like.

That would be lethal - in fact only my lack of money at the moment stopped the purchase (despite what Mr. B says about them) of a pristine W plate Mk1 Mini Metro - purely for nostalgia reasons.

I have hankered after a Dyane (but will put up with a 2CV) for years, its just never seemed the right time to buy one.

Well, here it is in all it`s `glory` in case someone else is interested! Not quite as local as I thought, must be my age!....
