you need a poll option that's something like "through this forum"

of the 5 BX's I own, one was from ebay, 1 was from a friend, and three were from forum contacts.

A mate was setting up in business selling used cars ......I asked him to get me "A car, over 1400cc,preferably deisel to tow a trailer tent with" .....he phoned me 3days later and said "You like Citroens dont you,I've got just the car for you" .....I saw "It" and fell in love with "It" ......I think he bought "It" from an auction, not really bothered though.
btw ......"It" ....is my "K" plate 1.7TZD

Two from the auctions, one sort of from here (a bloke Vanny knew near Liverpool), one from Ken (still going strong, thank`s Ken), and about four or five from eBay.

Two GTi's bought brand new from Citroen Main Dealer. This GTi bought 3 years old with one previous owner from Main Dealer.

I have bought all but my first from eBay. Never had a real problem - but can you have a proviso on the first category - only needed a few things doing!?

What's interesting, is that all but one had the same originating dealership...

2 cars bought off eBay (1 xBX) - both utter utter sh1t3.
The BX was supposedly off a Citroen enthusiast who had cosseted the car - utter slobolocks, he had managed to fit the brake pads incorrectly so that one side was worn to a thin sliver and the otherside was hardly touched. More bodgery than you coud ever imagine possible. In the end I got so frustrated with the bag of crap it was, it got scrapped.
The AX was clearly used as an elephants roller skate during its sorry life.

1 BX bought off a mate - perfect. (Mind you said mate bought it off ebay and spent lots of time and money getting it right....)

The moral of this story - by all means buy one off eBay - but be prepared to treat it as a spares car or be preparred to spend many hours and ££££ getting it right.
