Windscreen washer pipe

Post by ba_barabus »

Hi guys,

does anyone know if the small pipe that runs on the wiper arm that carrys water from the water resevoir and distributes it is available anywhere for sale?

Mine has been completely blocked with crude and I can unblock it. I'm currently renewing the system with new pipes and a new pump. Well I have to order the pump this evening!

The washer pipes are a standard fitment on most (if not all) cars.

You should be able to get a new one from a good motor spares shop, or failing that, try a scrap yard. There's bound to be something.

Do you mean the metal section of pipe? This can be re-sleeved. I'm sure there's a guide here somewhere.

as he / \ says,

i use a very stiff/rigid length of wire that is just the right diameter of the internal bore of the metal washer tube,

i suppose there is no reason why with the wiper unit off the car you couldn't use a drill of the right size, you migh need to run the drill in from both ends to reach the full length of the washer tube

also you are aware the plastic spray bar on the wiper arm is still showing as available from citroen

here is price and part No.

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
95495714 SPRAYING RAMP 12.18 GBP 14.62 GBP 14.62 GBP

and cheaper than a certain Citroen specialist offering these on ebay

" small pipe that runs on the wiper arm " Are you referring to the spray bar?

it certainly sounds like this is what the OP is saying, but for some reason i think its the metal tube running through the wiper spindle, as we all know this becomes blocked with rust,

Yes that is indeed what I'm looking for. My local dealer isn't the best and has told me it's NLA.

It's the U shaped narrow pipe where the water sprays out from which is clipped on to the wiper arm. I'm no part number for it and couldn't find it anywhere.

Is there somewhere online I could order one and have it delivered. It isn't convenient to get to my dealer.

Holy shit that's expensive with postage

I shudder to think what he'd ask for postage to Ireland.

Any cheaper options before I go mad and am forced to buy it?

Strangely I can't find that if I search on ebay for it myself.

if you give your local dealer the part No. and if he still says its NFP = NLA, ask them to do an all dealer search,

as i said above it is still showing as available on service citroen which is exactly the same site Citroen dealers look price and part No.'s up through

They should do an all-dealer-search as a matter of course - if they don't then they are being lazy b£%^£rs.

Thanks for the part number Malcolm - might get one myself which will save me drilling tiny holes in it from time to time.

Sorry Malcolm, hadn't read the last part of your post above mine quoting price and availability of the spray bar.

I thought you meant the rubber one. Perhaps I should read the post properly when I'm not tired...

Sadly this seems to be very true.

I had this a couple of years ago - they told me the part was NLA and they were just about to put the phone down when I asked them to search. Turns out they themselves had the part in stock!!! So I reckon they didn't even bother to check the system at all the first time, either that or only checked whether it was available to order, and not their stock.

JC Campbell FTW.

I called and gave the part number. No issues getting the part, paid over the phone and it'll be dispatched once it's in early next week. No charge for postage :)
