Hello all, Anyone done this job.
Brake pedal plunger stuck
Re: Brake pedal plunger stuck
what do you mean its stuck ????, i have never seen this before,
there is not much movement/travel at the dosure valve from fully of the fully on, this is normal as its only a valve opening to various degrees, and not like conventional brakes were your foot is creating the circuit pressure

Re: Brake pedal plunger stuck
Hi yes, the plunger screws onto back of brake pedal and makes contact with the brake valve. On the inner surface of the plunger, there's spring-loaded button (that Citroen introduced to make the powered brakes feel less alienating to people who drive lesser cars). if one presses the brake pedal too hard, this spring inside the button can so sideways and get stuck, meaning a big gap between the plunger and brake valve and the pedal feeling horrible.
solution: unscrew the button off the pedal, you'll see the spring is cocked over inside it, hit with a hammer in middle and this should bring it back square. Screw button back onto pedal, job done.
What causes this? usually ham-fisted (footed) MOT testers pushing too hard on the pedal during test and sometimes fierce emergency stops.

Re: Brake pedal plunger stuck
Or weld it in place when you get it in the out position for a permanent fix and according to some a better feel to the brakes.
