Bristol 2CV - anyone contacted them recently?

Post by BackinaBX »

Hello forum,

I'm trying to get hold of Bristol 2CV, the Citroen specialists in Redland... the phone number on the main site under BX Specialists rings itself to death and the Yellow Pages doesn't list them

I'm trying to get a quote for my rear arm bearings (utterly shot, wonky, squeaky, shopping trolley handling) and I've had a quote of (deep breath) £249 to fit them locally.

I'm sure I can do better than that!

Just wondering if anyone knows if Bristol 2CV are still in business? I took my BX to my local spanner monkey and he's never worked on a BX, and I don't want mine to be the first...

Well... I'm heading over that way at the weekend, so I'll go and peer through their letter box, see if anyone's home.

I'll let you know.

Thanks Geoff, that's great of you... if I can't get through this morning, I'll give you a ring.

Cheers,
Phil

They most definetly are still in business, I hang out with them most days. the 0117 9073330 number is the fax number, several phone book listings record this as their main number hence it can be difficult to get through on it since the fax is in the office and you cant hear it ring in the workshop. The correct number is 0117 9743947.
Mannie, Martin and Darren are great guys and if you tell them you know "Maddog" they may fit you in quicker and do it a bit cheaper, especially if your paying cash (or they'll tell you to b**ger off!!).

I'd never take the p*ss mate.
It's a mistake at least a third of all Mannies customers make!
Since every phone book in the northern hemisphere got his number wrong its not all that surprising!
Of course when anybody turns up there after cheap or un-obtainable bx bits he usually sends them to me anyway! I have too much cr*p maybe!
