Just planning ahead slightly before I start booking campsites, but can anyone who has camped recently in France advise on what sort of plug is required for an electrical hook-up as I'd like to make up a lead?
Is it something like this http://www.waudbys.co.uk/products/details/17175.html ?

Thanks!

Citroën Classic Challenge 2015

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Watched it on catch up. I thought Derek Bell was a decent sport confronted as he was by a self-parodying twerp. "Is this really what I must endure?" You could almost hear him say. Shame about his car's fault :( it would have been great to see him fight for first... And maybe at the end he could've just avoided running over the presenter. Or not. The Hotel looks fine though and I'm sure we'll have a lovely afternoon tea there in June...

Most are, but you'll occasionally find one which has the Euro indoor style socket, in some kind of weather protected housing. I'm sure anywhere that did would let you borrow a suitable adaptor though.

Anyone intending to come but not registered yet? Let me know - even if you are intending to register closer to the May 5th deadline, and I'll send you a copy of the route.

Been over to France, partly for a sneaky practise, but mainly because we were running out of cheap red wine... Nice day out and I also remembered to pick up a couple of litres of LHM. Just in case. With the exchange rate as it is, that's around £3.95 a litre.

Hi guys,

RE: The 'End-of-Event' dinner at the IBIS Falaise...

As you might know the hotel offers a ‘tourist (read Coach Party) menu’ at a very reasonable price of 23€ (which includes the cheese course and drinks) - which as I write this equates to £17.22 per head. With a tip that’s £19 each. So quite a decent deal…. However it transpires we all need to eat the same (reasonable given the size of the party: maybe as many as 18)….

As I mention on the FB page:

To get this deal everyone has to have the same starter, main and dessert, as well as have drink... I would also suggest everyone has cheese…

So can I venture: everyone has the following:

Starter: Salad of tomato and mozzarella, followed by

Main: Chicken with pommeau sauce

Cheese

Dessert: Chocolate cake with sauce

Choice of Wine or soft drinks. I imagine beer’s an option too.

Alternatively I could say we still want to eat and drink there but they can forget all their weird inflexibility and we'll all go a la carte! However, bear in mind they are going to be busy, (and apparently the function room is already booked too) so the kitchen will be manic so it might be a good idea to keep it simple! And for the price it should be ok. :) let me know if you're happy to be part of 'the coach party’ lol

PLEASE reply if you get this…

Thanks

PS I said I’d let them know by 28th April (post X-Rally for those, like me and others attending)

Seems the consensus is to go for this hassle-free, cheaper option although there will be those wanting to 'opt out' and go for the a la carte.

So it's just a case of sorting out numbers.

Oh, just a reminder... 11 weeks to go ;)
