Flow valve seal
Have just changed the seals on the flow valve- the lower one that goes to p/s pipe, it only seems to have screwed in about 3 full turns before hitting the stop, is this about right? Its not cross threaded.

Re: Flow valve seal
if you mean the unions for the steel lines - I often find these can be a fiddle to go in- especially with new seals... IIRC I shortened one seal a little when I refitted a new flow valve some time ago..

Re: Flow valve seal
if as above you mean the pipe seals,i 99% of the time re/use the old seal, and the easiest way to fit them is place each one into the unit its going into then gently ease/line up the pipe into the seal/port ( mind you dont pinch the seal ),
it is very difficult attempting to fit the pipe into the port with a seal already on the end,

Re: Flow valve seal
The opposite of the Haynes way I think.. but I too found it's the only way - especially when you've got really awkward ones like the diesel HP pump one to fit...
