Suspension sphere / accumulator sphere - Are they the same?

Post by tranentbx »

Hi,

I'm changing the front spheres today. I've bought new ones from the local motor factors but they are different from the old ones I've taken off. I noticed the box says (confusingly) Suspension accumulator spheres. I was just wondering if its a different design maybe or are accumulator spheres totally different from suspension spheres?

The new ones I bought are hollow inside the neck where the screw thread is. The old ones have some sort of metal disc inside the neck with a small hole.

Have they just supplied me with the wrong parts?

Thanks

Pascal

EDIT : I've just read up on them and now know the difference. I can't use them so will need to take them back! grrrr

sounds like they have sold you acumalator spheres, as that is the difference between suspension spheres and acumalator spheres, nout in the end as you say,

the bit in the end of the cornner spheres is a damper

what factors did you buy them from

Same thing happened to me this week, this time from GSF, ordered 2front spheres got home to find they both accumulators, correct part number on box but wrong spheres inside, annoying, yes, but they did give me 25% off for the inconvienence, total cost £44 which aint bad for new ones.

I just bought two front spheres and an accumulator from Auto Equippe in Glasgow.

They sent the correct parts, and they arrived very quickly.
