They're actually spot lamps, as fitted to the AX GT, 309 GTi among others. The fog lamps have a patterned lens, the spots are clear. The BX was only fitted with fog lamps from new, not spots.

I rewired the 16v to use the spot lamps (who the hell needs front fogs!?) actually as spot lamps, and used a set I had from my AX GT stash to change them over.

Kitch mine are fog lamps, he had a few sets with different lenses, some yellow some clear.

They are a thing of wonder Tim. If I were you, I'd get some optically clear (-ish lol) 'helicopter' tape/film to help protect them.

As a matter of interest did the quad-light bumpered 309 GTi have a pair of fogs and a pair of spots?

They will be going on J119 when it's mended and painted, Good idea on the tape phil.
