Hi all ......I think I know what the answers gonna be to this .......but just to confirm ........
My 1992 BXTZD [151,500miles] .....It's just had the spheres replaced [the old ones were pretty bad] .....I have noticed since that when I'm turning left,,going over speed bumps with the right wheels,or sometimes accellerating hard [in a straight line] I get a squeaking noise from the rear .......It *SEEMS* to be coming from the right rear but I cant be sure. I've been using the car this weekend over some rough roads [on a caravan site] and I noticed that when the suspension is set to the higher position [I didnt wanna knock my exhaust off ....otherwise I would'nt have set it to "high"] ....the noise disappears .....neither of the rear wheels have the "inward leaning look" about 'em ........but I'm still suspecting the rear bearings.
Anybody got any suggestions .....or deny/confirm my suspicions.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers guys
Terry

Rear arms
Hi I dont wish to rain on any ones parade etc. but my (BX's) rear arms looked fine but I had self steering from the rear and they were sometimes noisey. When they were stripped they were found to be
a. Dry with not a trace of grease.
b. Rusty, very.
c. The bearing cage's had broken up and all the rollers had gathered at the bottom of the tracks.
d. There was a lot of "mud" in there.
The good news was that the arms were savable and the repair kits cheap.
I must say that it might be the shape of the car but I can never work out if the wheels "do" lean just looking at them from the back, the camber of the road may have something to do with it.
Cheers.
Geoff.

Mine did that too.Ken did tell me why,but i've forgotcavmad wrote:I`d go with the rear arm bearings too, Geoffrey. One of mine displayed similar symptons and I was advised by some good people on here as to the cause.
Strangely enough whilst one at least was undoubtably shot the noise disappeared after a while.
