There'll be another award: a Certificate for Car of the Day (Sat, Sun) as voted for by ... well if the People are voting for the Malcolm Trophy, I guess Car of the Day can be voted for by the Organising Committee (applications welcome lol).

Following on from discussions with Jim E, we will be establishing a 'Tech Corner' where it will be possible (by request and subject to time and availability) to ask for a Lexia/ELIT session. CCC members will get their's free but non-members will be asked to contribute a minimum of £2 to the event's running costs.

Also there will be advice and a selection of manuals to help do some problem-identifying if not solving! I say that because we can't have people undertaking any extensive mechanical work on the site so there'll be no crawling under cars held up by wobbly jacks and axle stands. Please.(Can you imagine the liability issues...?!)

So we need your help.

If you have comprehensive workshop manuals for any Citroen please them along.

We also need to run power from the Hall to the Tech Corner so a heavy duty long, power lead with circuit breaker is required. Can anyone please lend one for the event?

Please contact me if you can help,

Thanks

Phil C

Is anyone from Manchester area heading to this? I've got some wheels I need to collect from Lancs but am down near Southampton. If I could arrange a collection I'd be very grateful. Happy to pass on beer tokens

DRAFT timetable:

Pay on the gate. Every paid-for car gets a Chevrons Rally sticker, not just a coloured dot. Attendees also get a leaflet and voting / feedback form.

Friday after 6pm:
Organiser's preparation. Set up camp (if appropriate) and eat Fish and Chips from the van, around 7:15pm.

Saturday: (As I say, this is a draft and is likely subject to some minor changes)

Breakfast from 8:30am - or earlier if we wake up...

10:30am - 'Tech Corner' opens

12:00 - Convoy trip to Bletchley Park. (There's a cafe there or you can organise a picnic yourselves).

3:30pm - Kid's colouring competition (judged around 5:00)

4:30pm - Collecting of voting sheets from those not attending Sunday.

6:00pm - BBQ starts

7:30pm - Quiz in the hall

c.9:00pm - Film show in the hall

Sunday:

Breakfast from 8:30am - or earlier if we wake up...

10:00am - 'Tech Corner' opens

11:00am - Kid's colouring competition (judged around 2:30pm)

12:00 - BBQ (if there's demand)

2:00pm - deadline for voting forms for the Malcolm Goldberger Trophy

3:30pm - Awards including the Trophy, colouring prizes, and certificate for Car of the Show, and Shed of the Show (well, it's tradition) from the Club.

4:30pm - winding up.

must admit was disappointed by the orange dot of the national rally, was expecting some kind of window/bumper sticker, going to try to attend on one day, got my eye on the " shed of the show" award so i guess for that it would need to be sunday, back at work 7am monday though..

The Marauder is all loaded up and cleaned ready for its first jaunt, shame there's no electric hook up although I do have a mains adaptor!

It will be lovely to attend an overnight rally where I wake up refreshed and warm instead of cold and tired!

Don't forget next weekend is The Chevrons Rally:

The weather forecast is OK. We have had a good response from Citroen owners generally so fingers crossed we will have a decent turn out. Please make sure - if you can - that you bring your BX along and support this event! Please ;)
