Went to see the Vulcan at Gravesend on Sunday and as I was pulling into the car park I was rather surprised to a very shiny silver Meteor and its even more surprised owner, Clive Coussey, waving back at me in my BX. Clive's Meteor is a diesel automatic.
Anyway it was rather nice to spend the hour waiting for Vulcan to appear chatting to Clive and his mother who had previously worked for A. V. Roe. Small world!
Despite having grown up with low flying Vulcans frequently in Northumberland and Yorkshire I still gaze in absolute awe when I see XH558.

Actually, I don't think it was the National (which I enjoyed!) but probably Little Horwood - has there been another rally this year other than the Chevrons?

Deltic I was as shocked to see another BX as you! And you have even more stickers on your car than mine Since enjoying the Chevron Rally I had yet to see another BX, it seems as soon as I see another Citroen BX I see a Vulcan .
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Little Horwood meet and Stowe House excursion on the Saturday. Seeing the other BXs and talking Citroen enthused me to get under the Meteor and change all the spheres a few weeks back Malcom supplied a set of comfort spheres and once I 'd made up an unlocking tool and followed the routines described on the forum, I immediately showered myself in LHM as the rear left sphere depressurised . I am really enjoying being back in a BX and consider my licence safe with that XUD up front. .
Was really surprised to see the turnout for the Vulcan down in Gravesend, when we arrived with an hour or so to go maybe 40 people were arrived but by the time she flew over there must have been over a thousand. My mother worked from 1951 at Bracebridge Heath for AV Roe when they were developing the 707 prototypes and lived near RAF Waddington where testing and later squadrons were based. It was her last chance to say goodbye and hear those unmistakable engines as XH558 flew over the south.
This is the only car forum with no pictures of any Vulcans so Deltic you might want to share your excellent pictures, I am sure others would enjoy them.

Thanks for the kind words! I have to say that railway rather than aviation photography is more my forte and rather than looking at mine I'd suggest having a look at Andy Rouse's incredible photographs of the Vulcan: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picture ... -Head.html
Although it is only a matter of days before XH558 is grounded at least we can continue to enjoy our BXs and mine has been cleaned since you saw it in its filthy state last weekend! After seeing you I was stopped by another chap who said that he had had a BX as a company car, but was only seemed interested in how fast I'd driven mine!
